In December, UAB students organized as a closing activity of the academic year a literary competition between inmates in the prisons of Brians 1, Brians 2, Quatre Camins and Puig de les Basses. The theme of the competition was 2020 and the learnings and reflections it had left us. The aim of this competition was to offer interns the opportunity to work through art to reflect and express emotions, moods, experiences and thoughts from a creative perspective. And participants were able to present works in four different categories: prose, poetry, short stories and drawing and in return. A total of 42 works were presented and distributed among the various categories.

The competition jury was made up of three representatives from the Department of Justice, a representative from the UAB and a volunteer from the FAS. The winning works were scored from 1 to 10 taking into account the originality of the work, the literary or stylistic technique, the expressiveness and dramatic force, the spelling and grammar correction and the thematic adequacy. The winning works were presented on December 20th.

The winners of the literary competition during the month of January will receive prizes related to the category of the work presented, including a drawing book, books and notebooks. In addition, all participants received a diploma, a bag and a FAS T-shirt. Finally, the jury sent a congratulation to the authors of the winning works highlighting the quality of the works presented.
