New wellbeing spaces at the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archive, the Humanities Library and the Veterinary Library
The Communication Library and General Newspaper Archive, the Humanities Library and the Veterinary Library are opening new informal, relaxing and welcoming spaces designed to promote concentration, rest and disconnection for library users.
The spaces at the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archive and the Humanities Library, known as Pausa Spaces, are equipped with sports equipment provided by the SAF, which users can use to take active breaks during their study time.
At the Veterinary Library, the space is called the Calma Space and is specifically designed to provide a quiet and peaceful environment that helps reduce academic stress and promote users’ wellbeing.
In addition, the Veterinary Library has the UAB’s first Blue Point, an information, support and guidance point aimed at preventing and providing support in situations of emotional distress. This initiative seeks to promote emotional wellbeing and contribute to the prevention of suicidal behaviour across the university community.
