The Humanities Library begins May full of exhibitions.

Poster of the exhibition

During the month of May, the Periodicals Room of the Humanities Library is hosting an exhibition by the Canyelles Aprèn Association which, led by professors Jessica Cabezas and Valeska Cabrera, presents “Games from the Past”.

This initiative highlights traditional games as a fundamental part of cultural heritage and as a tool for transmitting values and knowledge between generations. Games from the past were not only a form of entertainment, but also encouraged social interaction, physical and mental development, and became a cultural link between past and present. The exhibition is an initiative of the Canyelles Aprèn Association, together with Antonio Gonzalo and Julio Colom, which works to keep the memory of these games alive in the Canyelles neighborhood of Barcelona.

In the display cases on the ground floor of the Humanities Library, visitors can also find the bibliographic exhibition “40 Years of the Department of Catalan Philology”, featuring publications by members of the Department.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Gemma Rigau, professor in the Department of Catalan Philology.

Meanwhile, the third floor of the library hosts a bibliographic display bringing together a selection of books from the Francisco Rico Collection devoted to the evolution of printing, as well as the exhibition “Palestine: culture, identity and heritage. A journey through Palestinian cities, culture and everyday life”.

We look forward to seeing you!
