Travel with... Jane Austen
The hall on the floor 0 of the Social Sciences Library hosts a small exhibition dedicated to the cities of London and Bath.
With this exhibition, the Library launches a new series aimed at showcasing its tourism collection through the lens of literary fiction. The project stems from the recent acquisition of several works and maps featuring cities, towns, and other locations connected to major authors.
This first exhibition, dedicated to Jane Austen, presents maps of London and Bath, the settings where many of her novels take place. This visual journey invites visitors to explore iconic literary locations and understand how real spaces inspired Austen’s narrative world.
Dates: From 3 December to 12 January 2026
