Els Marges magazine celebrates fifty years of history with an exhibition at the UAB
The Humanities Library is hosting the exhibition “Els Marges: Fifty Years of History”, a display installed both inside and outside the Journals Room that offers an in-depth overview of the magazine’s origins, its most significant stages, and a selection of the content it has covered over half a century.
The exhibition also delves into key aspects such as the publication’s design, the choice of its title, and the well-known “Els Marges manifesto”, the 1979 article that examined the situation of the Catalan language and became a reference text.
The exhibition arrives at the UAB after being presented at the CRAI of the University of Barcelona and features the collaboration of the Víctor Balaguer Library Museum, which has provided documentation from the archive and personal library of Joaquim Molas.
The Jordi Castellanos Collection of the UAB is also participating, contributing essential materials for understanding the magazine’s trajectory.
The exhibition’s curator, Laia López Rigol, has been responsible for selecting and producing the content, with the aim of offering a comprehensive and rigorous perspective on one of the most influential publications in the Catalan cultural and literary sphere.
It can be visited until January 9, 2026.
