Exhibition "Start Game: video games at the UAB" at the Science and Technology Library
The Library, in collaboration with the Video Game Interest Group, reviews the teaching, research, and cross-curricular activities related to video games occurring on the UAB campus.
In recent years, many video games developed in Catalonia have been released, accompanied by a rise in the number of companies in the sector and the arrival of multinational firms opening new offices here. At the same time, interest in video games has become increasingly visible thanks to the emergence of specialized media outlets and the creation of various gaming communities.
This is highlighted in the report “La indústria catalana del videojoc 2024: llibre blanc”, published by the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia (2025).
Within this growing landscape, the UAB hosts the Video Game Interest Group, whose goals include:
-
Showing undergraduate and master’s students at the UAB that the video game industry is highly innovative and offers strong employment opportunities, and
-
Creating a cross-disciplinary, collaborative network of UAB lecturers and researchers working in the field of video games.
The exhibition on display at the Science and Technology Library until November 20 focuses on this Interest Group and on the research being carried out by its members.
In addition, if you are a gamer, you will have the chance to try several video games created by former students of the UAB Master’s Degree in Video Game Creation in a specially designated area.
We look forward to seeing you!
