Poster for an exhibition entitled

In this first exhibition of the year, installed in the exterior showcases of the Library of Science and Technology until February 7, you will find photographs of the bark of seven species of trees chosen from a wide variety within the UAB.

A field work that is accompanied by a bibliography available in the UAB Libraries, and with information, in the form of a herbarium and also through a video, of the basic characteristics and curiosities of each of the exposed trees:

  •    The eucalyptus
  •   The banana
  •   The magnolia
  •   The oak
  •   The ginkgo
  •   the pine
  •   The poplar or white poplar

We can find more than 300 tree species and more than 3,500 specimens spread throughout the UAB campus. Just walk around and contemplate its beauty as we walk through the paths, gardens and different spaces that connect the buildings to see all the biodiversity that surrounds us. Sustainability and care for the environment are priorities for all people who are dedicated to its conservation.

Some of the trees planted in recent years have been: flowering pear trees and parroties on Vall Moronta Street, hackberries, oaks, magnolias, lime trees and ginkgos in the the Coneixement  square, cork oaks in the Acadèmic square, tulip trees in Serragalliners Avenue, melias in the Serragalliners parking lot and horse chestnut trees in the School of Engineering, among others.

Pine, holm oak, and oak are the most abundant species in peripheral forests.

We appreciate the collaboration of Anna Florensa Botines, from the Technical Team of the Sustainability Office for the data provided on the trees on the UAB campus.

We are waiting for you!
