Mariola Baucells Collection

María Dolores Baucells Sánchez (1960-2012)

Professor in the Department of Animal and Food Science at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, she obtained her PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 1990. Her doctoral thesis was titled Estimation of body composition in sheep from the diffusion space of deuterium oxide: effect of the physiological phase and feeding plan.

An expert in Animal Nutrition, she was responsible for the Companion Animal Nutrition and Dietetics Unit at the UAB Veterinary Teaching Hospital (HCV). In the latter part of her career, she focused her efforts on pioneering and advancing teaching and research in the field of Companion Animal Nutrition in collaboration with the Hospital Clínic Veterinari.

She was also a graduate in Comparative Nutrition from the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN) and a member of the Animal Nutrition and Welfare Service (SniBA) within the RedIT (Network of Technological Innovation Support Centres).

Collection description: The collection consists of personal documentation and material related to her teaching and research activities, including contributions to conferences, journal articles, doctoral theses, working papers, and more. Part of the collection has been digitised, comprising approximately 121 digitised documents.
