Instituto Camões Collection / José Saramago Chair

The José Saramago Chair, located at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), was established in 2007 following an agreement between the Instituto Camões and the UAB based on the work done by the Centro de Língua Portuguesa / Instituto Camões in Barcelona. The Chair boasts a catalogued and regularly updated bibliographic collection of nearly 200 works by the Portuguese Nobel laureate, including original editions and translations that cover the diverse thematic realms explored by the author.

Initially, this collection was located at the Instituto Camões in Barcelona at the UAB, and in 2014, an agreement was signed to transfer the collection to the Humanities Library.
