Inaugural Session Program.

16:20h Inaugural conference "Mobility in the Valencia area: problems and achievements at urban, metropolitan and regional scale" by Josep Vicent Boira, (professor at the University of Valencia and Commissioner of the Mediterranean Corridor).

18h Presentation and explanation of the project and its area of study, by Professor Àngel Cebollada, coordinator of the core work project.

From the 2021-2022 academic year, the master's program will focus on activities that are more applied to everyday mobility in a metropolitan environment. This will be the third edition of the "Mobility in the metropolitan environment" cycle. The first edition of the cycle focused on "Mobility at the UAB and its metropolitan setting". Last year, under the title "Active mobility in metropolitan environments. Analysis and planning for an integrated bicycle policy", the scope of the study focused on a metropolitan area made up of the municipalities of Montcada i Reixac, Cerdanyola del Vallès, Ripollet, Bahía del Vallés and Barberà del Vallès, all of them within the first metropolitan area of Barcelona. This third and last edition of the cycle is entitled "Bases for the planning and management of active mobility in Ribera Baixa". This territory is the southern gateway to the Metropolitan Area of Valencia and the point of contact with the Valencian coast - tourist area and with areas of great natural interest (Albufera natural park).

From the Department of Geography we would like to welcome the teachers and students participating in this 18th edition of METiP and wish them a very good course.
