The Emprèn UAB space at Plaça Cívica has hosted this Wednesday the Demo Day of the new edition of the "Visionaris" course, the UAB's introduction to entrepreneurship programme. A total of 14 projects were presented in pitch format, three of which have been selected by an expert jury to receive expert mentoring to continue their development.

The Chair in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at the UAB has opened the call for entries for the 2026 Eines Awards, an initiative that aims to recognise and promote projects with a positive social impact, fostering social transformation through innovation and entrepreneurship. On 3 March the UAB took part in several activities held at the 4 Years From Now (4YFN) event as a member of the Barcelona Knowledge Alliance (BKA). At the event, Rector Javier Lafuente and other representatives of the UAB community participated in debates and presentations that highlighted the role of university research in generating innovation, creating knowledge-bassed companies, and developing solutions that benefit society and the economy.

Once more, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will be attending the 4 Years From Now (4YFN) start-up fair, taking place from 2 to 5 March as part of the activities programmed under the Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC). The stand will be giving visibility to spin-off companies and entrepreneurial projects launched by researchers, students and alumni.
Registrations open for the iFest Challenge Competition 2026, Catalonia's challenge competition for young people

The competition is aimed at young people aged 18 to 30, who can take part in teams of 2 or 3 in the Senior Category to solve real-life challenges proposed by companies and organisations, or to submit their own project.
At the Grand Final, three winning teams will be selected and will receive a trip to London to develop their project, explore the entrepreneurial ecosystem and take part in mentoring sessions.
Registration is open from 26 January to 19 February (2:00 pm).
GSEA 2026 competition: call open for students running an active business

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is an international competition for university students who run a business while studying. Taking part offers a chance to progress to the European and global rounds and, at the final stage, to compete for cash prizes (a US$100,000 global prize pool), as well as to receive feedback and connect with an entrepreneurial network, according to the organisers.
