AFIN

AFIN is an interdisciplinary, interuniversity and international research group, focused on basic and applied research in social, health and human sciences.
Since its creation in 2004, the group's work has been characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, the creation of synergies with other national and international groups and institutions, and a determined desire for the results of its research to transcend the academic field to reach the groups with and for the interest and well-being work.
AFIN is made up of professionals from social, cultural and medical anthropology, sociology, education, law, medicine, psychology and social work assigned to different national and international universities, organizations and services, both public and private.
Its main areas of research and application include:

Person, Gender, body, Care, Health, Death
Parenting - Motherhood and fatherhood -, reconciliation of work and family life, care, reproductive work and family life
Human reproduction -sexual and assisted-, reproduction with the participation of 'third parties' (gametes, embryos, pregnancy or children), care, work and transnational reproductive services
Reproductive processes (preimplantation genetic diagnosis, pregnancy/follow-ups, childbirth, postpartum, lactation, reproductive losses, endometriosis and other reproductive pathologies)
Secrecy, anonymity, taboo, privacy
Childhood and youth. Babies and children missing and/or stolen
