The Department's PhD program in Social and Cultural Anthropology provides the most advanced research training to achieve mastery of the discipline's theoretical, methodological and technical tools, the application of the principles of innovative and responsible research, and the ability to make an original contribution to anthropological knowledge in any of its fields, from the commitment of transfer to society.

Throughout the Doctoral studies, in addition to the incorporation into the academic life of the department and the active participation in the activities of the research groups, the UAB Doctoral School and the department organize specific training activities that guarantee competencies instrumental, transversal and thematic research essential to produce and communicate research.
