All of them study under the Tutoresport Programme, created by the UAB to give support to elite athletes enrolled at the UAB.

All five athletes are members of the Spanish water polo team who on Friday 28 July won the silver medal in the World Championships, in a final match against the United States, in which they lost 13-6. The team trained by Miqui Oca reached the finals after winning the semi-finals match against Canada by 12-10.
