Closing of the period for the submission of applications
Description:
We inform you that this year's call for the UAB Solidarity Fund is open for members of the PDI and PAS:
XL Call for University Cooperation Projects for Global Justice in Southern countries (L1) and Education for Global Justice activities in the UAB environment (L2).
The application period will end on March 29, 2023.
We also inform you that the ES2023-2024 Call is open for postgraduate, master's and doctoral students to promote their participation in university cooperation actions linked to their studies. The application period will end on March 31, 2023.
The rules and forms for the two calls are available on the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) website.

Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Economic Research
Description:
The Banco Sabadell Foundation, with the aim of encouraging and recognizing the work of Spanish researchers in the fields of economic, business and social knowledge, and contributing to the analysis and formulation of alternatives that promote social well-being, announces the call for the XXIII Prize Banco Sabadell Foundation for Economic Research.
The prize amount is 30,000 euros.

Science Carriage: let's talk about mental health stigma
Description:
Ana Barajas, Ana Aznar and Daniela León, PhDs and lecturers from the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, will be in the expert's seat of the Science Carriage this week from 9:41 a.m. to 2:22 p.m. They will be talking with train passengers about the stigma related to mental illnesses.
The first trajectory will begin at 9:41 a.m. from Sarrià to Sabadell Parc del Nord.
All three lecturers have participated in the Science Carriage podcasts, which are available here.

Science Carriage: let's talk about obesity and stigma
Description:
Lecturer David Sánchez will be in the Science Carriage expert's seet this week on the train travelling from Barcelona to the UAB and leaving from Plaça Catalunya at 11:28 a.m. Sánchez, lecturer in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology and director of the Reseearch Group in Health and Weight-Related Problems, will be talking with passengers about obesity and eating disorders, and the associated stigma.

Presentation of Mathias Thoenig (UNIL)
Description:
On March 4 at 14:45 am, we will find Mathias Thoenig (UNIL) in the IAE Seminary Room.
Mathias Thoenig is Professor of Economics at the University of Lausanne School of Economics and Business and Visiting Professor of the Centennial of the PPE at the Department of Economics at Oxford University, in association with University College and Queen's College, Oxford. This visiting professorship marks the 100th anniversary of the creation of the degree of Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at the University of Oxford.
Mathias is also a CEPR researcher in international trade, macroeconomics and political economy programs and an elected member of the Council of the European Economic Partnership. He is a distinguished researcher at the IMD Business School. He has held visiting and statutory positions at the International Monetary Fund, MIT, Queen Mary University in London, Sciences Po Paris, the University of British Columbia, and Pompeu Fabra University. He also served on the editorial boards of the Journal of European Economic Association and International Economics.
His research interests include development, international trade, and the political economy of conflicts and migration.
