Presentation by Nicola Fuchs- Schündeln
Description:
On March 18 at 14:45, we will find Nicola Fuchs- Schündeln (Goethe University Frankfurt) in the IAE Seminary Room.
Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln is a professor of Macroeconomics and Development at Goethe University in Frankfurt. Prior to joining Goethe University in 2009, she was an assistant professor at Harvard University. She received her PhD in economics from Yale University in 2004 and holds an honorary doctorate from Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg.
She is director of the CEPR macroeconomics and growth program, chair of the Review of Economic Studies, and an elected member of the Econometric Society. He received the 2018 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize from the German Science Foundation, Germany's highest scientific award, and the 2016 Gossen Prize from the German Economic Association. He is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Scientific Advisory Councils of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany and the Central Bank of Germany.
It has many affiliations with international research networks.

Presentation Jim Constain
Description:
Next March 20 at 1:30 p.m., Jim Constain's presentation will take place in the Sala TBC.
Jim Constain has been a staff economist at the Bank of Spain since 2006. He obtained a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago in 1997, and has been a professor at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) and Carlos University. III (Madrid), as well as a frequent visitor to the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research studies how realist frictions affect the dynamics of macroeconomic general equilibrium models. He has particularly focused on labor market search frictions, incomplete insurance markets, nominal rigidities, heterogeneous information aggregation, and costly decision making. Much of his recent work studies macroeconomic policy interactions in the euro area.

Enrique is a theoretical microeconomist interested in industrial organization and the economics of organizations. His research has focused on understanding how organizations deal with innovation and change, including whether firms with market power can use their privileged position to prevent the entry of new competitors with more innovative or better quality His research has been published in the American Economic Review.
