Official Master's Degrees

Work placements of the Master's Degree in Archival Studies and Information Governance

One of the objectives of the school is to facilitate entry into the labour market of its students. Since the academic year 2003-04, a series of agreements have been signed with public and private institutions and companies offering internships to students of the Master’s degree in Archival Studies and Information Governance so that they can gain work experience in document management and/or archive services in those organisation.

  • The syllabus of the Master’s degree in Archival Studies and Information Governance includes an obligatory period of 150 hours in the second year carrying out document management and/or archive services, corresponding to those contemplated in Module 10.
  • These interships are always remunerated and compatible with the academic timetable of the school.
  • Internships can be curricular or extracurricular:
     - External placements are termed curricular when they form part of the study programme, count for ECTS credits, and have the duration specified in the study programme,  corresponding to the number of credits.
    - Placements are deemed extracurricular when they do not form part of the study programme and are completely voluntary. They must still be directly linked to the student's studies and must have a workload of no more than half that of an academic year (750 hours), the period between September of one year and September of the next.
  • Students can do internships from the first year of the Master's program, with a limit of 750 non-curricular hours per year.
  • Curricular and extracurricular internship positions are always paid.
