Régimen de permanencia
Conditions for remaining at the UAB for official master's degree students
Study load / Maximum and minimum enrolment credits
The UAB regime of continuity establishes that the official master's degree courses can be taken on a full-time or part-time basis.
- If you enrol full-time, your study load will be of at least 60 and no more than 78 credits per academic year.
- If you enrol part-time, your study load will be of at least 30 and no more than 42 credits per academic year.
Maximum period of study
All students are granted three years to complete their master's degree studies and four years if they enrol in additional training courses. In the case of master's degrees worth between 90 and 120 credits, full-time students have four years to complete the degree and part-time students are granted one additional year.
Academic progress
Students must enrol in all basic and compulsory modules which they have not passed before enrolling in new modules. Optional modules can be substituted with other different optional modules.
Students enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree have the right to enrol in a specific module four times. They will need to bear in mind that the marks "No-show", "Non-assessable" and "Fail" also count toward these three enrolment opportunities.
Students can request a total or partial cancellation of their enrolment within the period assigned for these purposes in the Academic Calendar. Cancelling the enrolment however does not automatically entitle students to the reimbursement of their enrolment fee. Fees will be reimbursed only in exceptional cases which are duly justified.
Continuity
a) Students with disabilities or exceptional situations
The UAB must ensure that this regulation is applied adequately to students with special needs, through the assessment of each individual case and the adoption of specific measures.
b) Appeals based on the application of this regulation
Appeals related to the application of this regulation will first be resolved by the dean or director of the centre.
An appeal can be filed against the decision of the dean or director with the rector of the UAB, who makes the final decision after being informed by the Board of Trustees and having evaluated the circumstances and the teaching centre's report.
The rector's decision is final. Therefore, any student wishing to file an appeal against the rector's decisions must file it under contentious-administrative proceedings.
