The master's degree in Animal Welfare equips its students to give guidance on any aspect of the welfare of farm animals, zoo animals and pets. The master's degree deals with the fundamental scientific principles of animal welfare, together with legal and ethical matters. Students learn to assess animal welfare, suggest preventive measures and solve the principal problems that can impact the welfare of free-ranging or stabled animals, on farms, in dog kennels, zoos, etc. This master's degree has a duration of 8 months. During this time, students attend theory and practice sessions, resolve case studies, develop protocols and produce a master's degree dissertation.

Internships

Curricular practices are those which are included in the curriculum of the studies and, therefore, must be overcome to obtain the degree. The programme manager will explain you the details of how, where and under what conditions you should do the internship.

As a UAB student, you have access to the University occupation portal, the Occupability Service, through which you can participate in selection processes for non-curricular practices as well as getting a contract. In both cases, you need to sign up to the Nexus application.
