Colloquium on ¿How to build a quantum computer¿
Description:
Led by Elia Bertoldo, postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IFAE), with the participation of Josep Bosch, quantum algorithms engineer at Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech.
Quantum computing is the talk of the town, both inside and outside the academic world. Right now, various technologies are being developed in different parts of the world to create the first quantum computer with impactful applications. As part of the Quàntica@SBD series, the colloquium will bring the audience closer to these attractive yet complex technologies by first talking about the basic concepts of quantum computing, and how to translate what the theory tells us into a device that works, and one that works well.
The talk will allow to discover superconducting qbits, one of the technologies under development, and will discuss their performance and limitations. And from the technological developments that are taking place in Barcelona and Vallès, a more global vision of the challenges in the short and long term will also be given.
Place: Fundació Bosch i Cardellach, Sabadell (Carrer d'en Font 1)
