Presentation of the project "From the Euro to the Joule"
Description:
Presentation session of the project "From the Euro to the Joule" (eur2j), an initiative led by UAB Department of Physics researchers Daniel Campos and Xavier Àlvarez. The project aims to promote science education in the field of energy transition and encourage public debate on this crucial issue.
Event programme
The presentation session of the project results is aimed at those interested in environmental education and communication, especially secondary school teachers interested in incorporating (through class problems, didactic units, research work, etc.) aspects related to sustainability and energy in the secondary school curriculum.
5:00 - 5:30 p.m. Inaugural speech by environmental journalist and scientific disseminator Cori Calero (TV3): “How to communicate the climate crisis: tools for secondary school teachers”
5:30 – 6 p.m. Presentation of the eur2j project results
6 – 6:20 p.m. Coffee break
6:20 – 7:20 p.m. Demonstration session: “How to incorporate sustainability and energy transition concepts into the secondary school curriculum”
7:20 – 8 p.m. Networking session: “Creation of a network to promote scientific education on energy”
Attendants will receive a welcome gift and a certificate of attendance.

Presentation of the book "El carro de fenc"
Description:
Jaume Terradas, ecologist and honorary professor of Ecology at the UAB, and Teresa Franquesa, environmentalist and PhD in Biological Sciences, will discuss the book El carro de fenc, of which Terradas is the author. The book is an essay on the relationship between humanity and nature, which combines art, science and history to warn about the ecological crisis and the urgent need for global change.
The conversation will be moderated by Jordi Carrasco. The event is organised by the publishing house Arcàdia and has the collaboration of the Ateneu Barcelonès and CREAF.

Ontological diversity in environmental education
Description:
The ISOR research group of the UAB, in collaboration with the University of Groningen, organises the webinar series “Varieties of re-enchantment: nature and spirituality in contemporary societies”. The second talk, entitled Ontological Diversity in Environmental Education, will be given by Professor Ana Fernández-Aballí of the University of Groningen. Heritage May at the UAB: "The invisible tasks of an art museum"
Description:
The UAB Heritage Campus offers in the month of May a series of activities entitled Heritage May at the UAB, organised by the Department of Art and Musicology in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and the CORE in Heritage, which includes several heritage proposals from a critical and interdisciplinary approach.
One of the activities is a conference entitled “The invisible tasks of an art museum” by Mireia Rosich, director of the Museum Víctor Balaguer of Vilanova i la Geltrú. The event will take place on 23 May from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Aula 603 of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities of the Department of Art and Musicology.

Decree laws: Governing by shortcut or by necessity?
Description:
Laura Cappuccio, lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Law, will give a lecture as part of the Un cafè de Dret series, organised by the AmicsUAB, where she will analyse the use of decree laws in current governance, discuss the advantages, limitations and impact on democratic quality.
