Conference on Abandoned Towns: a universal legacy for the knowledge and development of the land
Description:
The Periodicals Room of the UAB Faculty of Arts & Humanities will host a conference entitled Pobles abandonats: una herència universal per al coneixement i desenvolupament del territori. This conference on abandoned towns will be given by Òscar Jané, lecturer of modern history and vice-rector for International Relations at the UAB.
This session forms part of the “Les ruralitats del Campus de la UAB" conference series offered by the Seminar of Advanced Anthropological Theories and Research, organised by the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. The programme aims to raise awareness of and give importance to the rural past of the UAB campus, and to see how it still survives in today's environment. The event will take place on 4 April at 10:00 a.m.
The conference series runs from February to April at the Preiodicals Room of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The sessions are open to the general public and free of charge.

Final conference of the European project TRAIT: building networks for good practices in the care of transgender persons
Description:
The UAB organises the final day of the European project TRAIT (Training to Raise Awareness and Inclusion of Transgender), a free and open event that seeks to create networks of good practices in the care of transgender people. The conference will bring together different professionals from the fields of advocacy and health to discuss the achievements and challenges of the project: Rosa Almirall, creator and head of TRAIT 2012-2023, president of the association Kasa Trans and TRAIT Barcelona training coordinator; Pilar Escotorín, professor at the Department of Basic, Evolutionary and Educational Psychology at the UAB and TRAIT Barcelona coordinator; Sergio Siverio, professor of Constitutional Law at the University of La Laguna; Lina Mulero, health agent of Traffic, Care and Health Promotion of trans people, activist for the rights of trans people, spokesperson of the health transforming platform and trainer in the TRAIT project; and Carlo Calella, student of the TRAIT project, practicing lawyer and activist. The conference will take place on 4 April at 4:00 p.m. at the Palau Robert in Barcelona (Passeig de Gràcia 107). Registration is required at the following link.

Talk on tax challenges facing new digital business models
Description:
As part of the Un cafè de Dret series organised by the AmicsUAB, Zuley Fernández, professor of financial and tax law at the UAB, will give a lecture on the tax challenges facing new digital business models. Paying special attention to content creators and streaming platforms, Fernández will analyse the tax obligations and legal challenges of this growing sector. The event will take place on 4 April at 6:30 p.m., in the Sala Sagarra of the Ateneu Barcelonès.

Conference on austerity and confidence in EU institutions

The UAB European Documentation centre organises a conference entitled “Austerity and Trust in EU Institutions” which will be given by lecturer Merve Biten Butorac from the University of Amsterdam. The conference includes the support of the Jean Monnet Centre for Excellence – EUGLOB (UAB), euGov, Global Intel, BACES-UPF and the Institute for European Studies of the UAB. Presentation of the exhibition "Birdwatching", by Jordi Bartolomé Filella.
Description:
Birdwatching opens a window into the life of all kinds of birds through the perspective of Jordi Bartolomé Filella, biologist and associate professor in the Department of Animal Science and Food (UAB). This exhibition will be presented on Tuesday, April 8 at 12:00 p.m. at the Exhibition Space of the Theatre Hall UAB. Birdwatching takes us to the forests of Catalonia and Spain with around thirty diverse photographs that show us closely the habitat of these birds. The room where the exhibition will be held will be open Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
