Inauguration of "The UAB's female honorary doctors"
Description:
The Science and Technology Library (Biblioteca de Ciència i Tecnologia, BCT) will play host to the inauguration of the exhibition "The UAB's female honorary doctors". a virtual and physical initiative of the Library Services which aims to pay tribute to the achievements and lifelong careers of the women awarded a prestigious honorary doctorate by the UAB. Included in the exhibition o n display at the BCT will be Lynn Margulis, evolutionary biologist (awarded an honorary doctorate in 2007); Katarzyna Chalasinska-Macukow, physicist (2009); Margarita Salas Falgueras, molecular biologist (2018), and Lisa Randall, physicist (2019). The exhibition will be on display until 31 March.

Screening of the documentary "Not Suitable for Cowards."
Description:
Not Suitable for Cowards will be screened on March 3 at 10 AM at the UAB Cinema Hall. This documentary collects the testimonies of 50 women aged 50 about menopause, sex, maturity, life as a couple, aging, and death. Over fifty minutes, these reflections and stories are woven together in an honest, funny, and moving way.

Of ancestrality and genetics: current debates on identity, memory and biology
Description:
The ISOR Research Centre of the UAB organises the seminar “Of Ancestrality and Genetics”, which focused on current debates on identity, memory and indigenous populations. The dialogue will be between Monica Sans, lecturer of biological anthropology, and Sibila Vigna, lecturer of social anthropology, both from the University of the Republic, Uruguay. The moderator will be Gabriela Irrazábal, professor at the University of Buenos Aires and fellow of RMIT Europe. The seminar will take place on 3 March at 1:00 p.m. in the Board room of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of the UAB.

Screening of the film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," by Robert Wiene.
Description:
The UAB Cinema Hall will host the screening of the acclaimed film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" on Tuesday, March 4th at 12 p.m. This film, directed by Robert Wiene and a prime example of German Expressionism, tells the story of Dr. Caligari and his strange companion, Cesare, who find themselves caught up in a tale of pursuit and murder in 1920s Germany.
As part of the "Thresholds" film cycle, organized by Ludovico Longhi, professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising.

TVC journalist Abraham Orriols presents "Una vida a les muntanyes"
Description:
The UAB Veterinary Medicine Library will play host to the presentation of the book entitled Una vida a les muntanyes: La pastora Marina Vilalta, un segle arrelada a la terra, published by Ara Llibres by author Abraham Orriols, news reporter for Televisió de Catalunya.
The book narrates the life of Maria Vilalta, a shepherdess who knows the mountains of Catalonia like the back of her hand thanks to the daily journeys she goes on with her flock, and highlights her connection with nature, her resilience in a dying trade and the importance of preserving rural traditions.
The presentation will take place on 5 March at 1:15 p.m. and will be presented by Marta Civil, technician at the UAB Communications Library and General Newspaper Archives.

Women, armed conflicts and peace: from Resolution 1325 to reality
Description:
The CCOO UAB trade union organises a debate to analyse the role of women in armed conflicts and peacebuilding processes, 25 years after the passing of the UN's Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. The event will include experts Maria Villellas, researcher and co-director of the UAB School for a Culture of Peace; Maria Alba Gilabert, journalist of the international section of Catalunya Ràdio with experience in covering armed conflicts; Betty Puerto, social psychologist, activist and defender of human rights in Colombia; and Júlia Pastor, human rights project technician at the Red Cross. The debate will be moderated by Anna Morist, delegate of the CCOO. The event will take place on 6 March at 11:00 a.m. at the UAB Cinema Hall (Plaça Cívica).
