Activities held by the UAB Equality and Diversity Service
Description:
The UAB Equality and Diversity Unit organises activities to hlep communicate from a gender perspective and understand how discourses can perpetrate society's patriarchal and androcentric ideologies which marginalise women. The activities will be held on 12, 19, 26 March and on 2 April, at 3:00 p.m. They will focus on identifying where and how, directly and indirectly, gender-based inequality and discrimination are expressed in language and audiovisual discourses, and tools will be offered to help communicate using gender perspective. All activities will take place in Aula 10 of the Faculty of Communication Studies and have a price of 30 euros. They can be validated for 2 ECTS credits.

Global Talent Fair
Description:
The Global Talent Job Fair will take place on 2 April at 10:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, and on 3 April online. The fair will be a place where students will be able to discover and interact with different companies they may be interested in working with in the future. Students will be able to speak and hand in their curriculum vitae to all the companies and institutions in which they are interested. To participate, students can sign up here.

Performance "Caure. To Fall", from the WIRE project.
Description:
Caure. To Fall is the story of fifty key women in the resistance to totalitarianism in Europe during World War II. This play is the central focus of the WIRE project (Women in Resistance. Reshaping the narratives of female antitotalitarian resistance in Europe), coordinated by UAB and bringing together the work of a group of forty university students from Catalonia, Poland, Greece, and Italy. This play, directed by Helena Tornero, "goes beyond its artistic value," as they explain, "it is an action aimed at repairing another inexcusable oblivion: that of the women who fought against the dictatorships."

Security, influence and control of Spain in the Mediterranean (1919-1939)
Description:
Francisco Veiga, lecturer of contemporary history at the UAB and researcher at CEDID-UAB, organises the conference "Security, Influence and Control. Spain in the Mediterranean (1919-1939)". The conference is part of the framework of the R&D project “The dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and the Second Spanish Republic in its relations with pan-Arabism and pan-Islamism, 1923-1937”. The event will take place on 3 and 4 April at the UAB Casa Convalescència in Barcelona (Carrer San Antoni Maria Claret 171) and is funded by the Spanish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Universities; the State Research Agency (MICIU/AEI); and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF, EU). Registration is required by email and the program can be consulted at the following link.

Conference on Abandoned Towns: a universal legacy for the knowledge and development of the land
Description:
The Periodicals Room of the UAB Faculty of Arts & Humanities will host a conference entitled Pobles abandonats: una herència universal per al coneixement i desenvolupament del territori. This conference on abandoned towns will be given by Òscar Jané, lecturer of modern history and vice-rector for International Relations at the UAB.
This session forms part of the “Les ruralitats del Campus de la UAB" conference series offered by the Seminar of Advanced Anthropological Theories and Research, organised by the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. The programme aims to raise awareness of and give importance to the rural past of the UAB campus, and to see how it still survives in today's environment. The event will take place on 4 April at 10:00 a.m.
The conference series runs from February to April at the Preiodicals Room of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The sessions are open to the general public and free of charge.
