YUYAY, a monologue by Colombian artist Eddy Laverde
Description:
Yuyay — which in the Quechua language means memory, understood as the collection of ideas, feelings, impulses and recollections — is a one-woman show based on the true story of Colombian actress Eddy Yazmín Laverde.
The performance focuses on the situation of women who are victims of war and the looting of territories, and opens a space for peace and reflection on structural violence and its consequences.
The performance lasts 30 minutes and will be followed by a 50-minute forum, creating a space for meeting and conversation with the audience.
Booking in advance is recommended via this form.
Tickets can be acquired at the Theatre Hall's tickets office, which opens 30 minutes before the start of the performance. Admission is free but limited to the venue's capacity.

Closing ceremony of the final of the 27th Exporecerca Jove
Description:
Exporecerca Jove is an international research fair where secondary and upper secondary school students from around the world present their research projects for three days in personalised stands, disseminating and making their research known to the visiting public. On 23 March at 6:00 p.m., the Casa de Convalescència UAB will host the closing event of the final of the 27th Exporecerca Jove, in which the European and local research awards will be presented. The rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente, will present the first Exporecerca Jove award and will speak at the closing of the event.

The third Gulf War and the future of international order
Description:
The Institute of Political and Social Sciences (ICPS) of the UAB and the Barcelona Provincial Council organise a session entitled "The Third Gulf War and the Future of International Order". The conference will take place on 24 March at 6:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the ICPS. The activity will discuss what factors have consolidated the third Gulf War and the consequences that the phenomenon brings to the development of the future of the international order.
The session will be led by Oriol Bartomeus, director of the ICPS, who will present the event. Eduard Soler, professor of international relations at the UAB and the Barcelona Institute of International Studies, and Oriol Costa, professor of international relations at the UAB and IBEI, will also speak. The event will be on-site and with limited capacity. To attend, it is necessary to sign up by filling out this registration form.

Asian Day and Cultural Diversity
Description:
During the UAB's farmers' market, to be held on 25 March at 11:00 a.m., the Asian Day will be held at the UAB's Plaça Cívica, organised by the Community Involvement Unit and the Department of Culture. This annual avent aims to foster the wealth and diversity of Asian cultures.
Different cultural activities will be offered, as well as the possibility of including new proposals linked to the first edition of the Week of Culture and Human Rights, which the UAB organises from 16 to 26 March. The initiatives aim to experience freedom of artistic expression and critical thinking, promoting participation and active commitment to the defense of human rights and culture.

Angry populist politics: Why is it happening and what to do about it
Description:
On 25 March at 12 noon, the Faculty of Political Science of Sociology of the UAB organises a conference entitled "Angry populist politics: Why is it happening and what to do about it". The event will take place at the conference hall of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology and will be given by Ian Shapiro, professor at Yale University.
The session will address the causes of the rise of contemporary populism and analyse possible political and institutional responses to this global phenomenon. It will also offer an academic reflection on recent transformations in international politics and the current challenges of Western democracies.
