On Wednesday, April 9th at 1:30 p.m., the façade of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting will become an unusual stage that will host the performance Fargar: a choreography inspired by the strength of the castells. Led by the company Berta Baliu, the façade of this faculty will transform into a stage full of dance and movement through a choreography performed by a trio of vertical dance professionals. Fargar is a newly created project that revisits and pays tribute to the culture of the castells, exploring its evolution from its origins. This performance is one of the activities that will take place within the Comunitària UAB.

Description:

"Extinction Rave (Situation Diagnosis)" is an interactive performance with the audience, centered around the climate crisis and the possibility of witnessing our own extinction. Through a guided tour with headphones across different spaces of the campus and the Sala Teatre, an experience will be created in which the viewer is invited to reflect on the modern-world system, all from an ecofeminist perspective.

The company performing this show is Fundación Mis Bragas, and it is part of the SIS Week.

The UAB ISOR Research Centre organises a seminar entitled “Postwar in War: Ukrainian reparations” which will be given by Fiona Greenland, sociology professor at the University of Virginia. Greenland will analyse the benefits of restorative practices in helping individuals and communities. The event will take place on 10 April at 1:30 p.m. at the Board Room (Sala de juntes) of the UAB Faculty of Political Science and Sociology.

The commissioner of the Millenary Montserrat, Lluís Baulenas, will offer a conference entitled "Montserrat 1000 anys: Celebrem-ho!" in an event presented by the rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente.

The conference will invite to reflect on the meaning of the mountain of Montserrat for people and its historical and cultural significance over this past millennium.

The “Ecosocial crisis, implications and challenges” series consists of 6 conferences and is organised by lecturer Josep Espluga, together with the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology and the UAB's Solidarity Foundation. It is aimed at students from all the UAB campus.

The fifth conference is entitled "Global Extractivism and Climate Migrations", and will be given by Miguel Pajares, honorary president of the Catalan Commission for Refugee Action. It will take place on 24 April, at 1:00 p.m., in Aula 13 of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of the UAB.
