On October 13, 2025, the Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the awarding of the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel.
In this edition, the awardees have been :

Joel Mokyr (Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA and Eitan Berglas School of Economics, Tel Aviv University, Israel)
for having identified the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress
and

Philippe Aghion (Collège de France and INSEAD, Paris, France, and The London School of Economics and Political Science, UK)

Peter Howitt (Brown University, Providence, RI, USA)
for the theory of sustained growth through creative destruction
Professors Anna Aubanell and Pau Roldan-Blanco of the Department of Economics and Economic History, will present the event in the "Sala de Graus" on February 19th, at 1:30 p.m.
