Opening Ceremony of the 2026-27 Academic Year
We would like to remind you that on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, from 11:30 a.m., the inaugural ceremony of the 2026-2027 academic year will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Business. The event will be attended by the Rector of the UAB, Dr Javier Lafuente.
Undergraduate teaching activities will be suspended on that day from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in order to facilitate the participation of both students and faculty members in this important institutional event of the Faculty.

As part of the inaugural ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year at our Faculty, we would also like to hold a small tribute and recognition event for the faculty members who achieved the highest scores in the teaching evaluation surveys during the 2025-2026 academic year. In addition, recognition will be given to the three students with the best academic records at the midpoint of their studies in each of the Faculty’s degree programmes.
The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Dr. Oriol Amat, Professor of Financial Accounting and Finance and former Rector of UPF. The lecture is entitled: “Keys to Business Growth and Prosperity.”
Tuesday, 13 October, at 11:30 a.m., in the Sala d'Actes of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
At the Sabadell Campus, the event will be streamed live in the Multipurpose Classroom.
