Eines Awards 2022, new call open for social innovation projects
A new call will be open until 26 September for the second edition of the eines Awards, in which the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation aims to give special acknowledgement to activities focusing on reaching the 17 sustainable development goals set down by the United Nations. Candidates can submit their proposals on the eines website. The winners will be announced on 9 November in an event to be held at the Can Gomà Municipal Theatre in Mollet del Vallès.

The Chair in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, associated to the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Research (CREIS) of the UAB, announces its eines Awards 2022 for the best social transformation projects in general, and those related to the Vallès and local regions. In the case of projects focusing on the Vallès and more local regions, both incipient and consolidated initiatives will be distinguished. In the first edition of the eines Awards, which took place last year, the winners were five projects committed to working on social and professional inclusion, ecological agriculture, sustainable distribution of goods, and the involvement of young people in the technological and applications development of ICTs aimed at solving social problems.
According to the rules to participate in the awards, candidate projects must have a social or common good objective behind the commercial activity created, and include a high degree of social innovation; its benefits must be reinvested mainly in reaching its social objective, and the method of organisation or property system must reflect the social mission of the company and be based on social justice and democratic and participative principles. The projects can be presented by social and innovative organisations combining social objectives with an entrepreneurial spirit and manged in an open and responsible manner, with the involvement of working people and consumers of other interest groups related to their activities.
The UAB created the Chair in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, associated to the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Research at the UAB, in collaboration with the city councils of Mollet del Vallès and Sant Cugat del Vallès, and the county councils of Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental. The chair also receives the support of the Provincial Council of Barcelona and forms part of the EINES (Espai Innova en Emprenedoria Social) project, which provides support to entrepreneurship and social innovation and includes the involvement of both the UAb and surrounding social, administrative and productive surroundings.
