Master description

The MA in Advanced English Studies (60 ECTS credits) is an official UAB MA. It is structured into two areas of specialisation:

1) Multilingualism and Acquisition of English

2) Literature and Cultural Studies

The master's degree provides 27 ECTS credits common to both areas of specialisation; the remaining 33 credits are organised as follows (per specialisation):

  •  An obligatory 9-credit module
  • 24 credits of optional 6-credit modules

Students not wishing to pursue a specific area of specialisation will be able to choose from all the optional subjects offered by this master's degree (from either of the two areas of specialisation) and take the obligatory module of their choice without this requiring them to select one of the areas of specialisation.

The master’s degree is taught over two semesters within a single academic year and is research-oriented, although it also offers an optional placement module.

Course begins on
