The institutional event in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities will take place on 11 December at 12:30 h. The aim of this event is to raise awareness and promote inclusion for everyone whilst improving our society.

The event will be presented by Sara Moreno, Vice-Rector for Students and Employability. Award of Impuls grants will take place right after, hand in hand with Gabriel Masfurroll, Board of Trustees’ president. Subsequently, Arnau Panicot, a student who received this grant for students with disabilities, will share his experience at university.

The ceremony will end with a conference entitled “Challenges to move towards an inclusive university” given by Josep Maria Sanahuja Gavaldà, director of the Centre for Studies and Research for an Inclusive Society (CERSIN).

Impuls grants

The ceremony will take place in a space reserved for the award of the Impuls grants, a set of financial aid for students with disabilities who study in UAB, especially for those in a situation of dependency. This event will count with the collaboration of companies, benefactors, private foundations and UAB’s Board of Trustees. The aim of this project is for these students to have an easier access to university to complete their higher studies in order to access the labor market afterwards.
