Beques Joves en Construcció de Pau (JCP)

A new call for scholarships has been opened for young Syrians, Kurds or Iraqis to study peacebuilding and human rights at the UAB.

25/04/2022

On April 19, the deadline to submit applications to apply for the UAB Youth in Peacebuilding Scholarships (JCP) opened. The scholarships are offered from the FAS, are funded by the UAB and the ACCD, and are framed within the project "ASÎTÎ: Promoting the role of young internally displaced women and refugees from the long-term conflicts of Syria and the KRI and the youth of the host communities of Jordan and Catalonia in the construction of peace and the consolidation of democracy and human rights in the Middle East", coordinated by Novact.

The JCP scholarships are aimed at financing a Master’s or PHD for three women of Syrian, Iraqi or Kurdish origin, during the academic year 2022/23, with the aim of generating knowledge in the fields of peacebuilding, the consolidation of democracies, and the transformation of conflicts.

The scholarships will cover all the costs of study and stay during the time at the UAB of the three women scholarship recipients who, apart from working in research, will also take part in awareness-raising, training and advocacy activities on refugee, and peacebuilding issues, within the framework of the Program for the Inclusion of Asylum Seekers in the UAB, managed by the FAS.

To apply for one of the scholarships it is necessary to fill out and submit the application form of the program, along with a series of documents specified in the bases of the call. The deadline for receiving applications is now open and ends on May 3, 2022.

Next Monday, April 25 at 12 noon, an open online session will be held where the doubts that the candidates may have regarding the call will be resolved. The session, which does not require prior registration, can be accessed through this link. In case of not being able to attend the session or for subsequent doubts, you can write to fas.acollida@uab.cat
