26 received proposals for university cooperation projects

Under the framework of calls for the UAB Solidarity Fund, UAB students, professors, staff have sent 26 project proposals for university cooperation with southern countries and educational activities for development.

The Solidarity Fund is a UAB means to promote university cooperation actions for the development that contributes to the creation of favorable conditions to build a more fair, democratic, and sustainable world. The Fund makes two grant calls per year: one addressed to professors and university staff and the other one to master or PhD students.

The FAS has received a total of 26 applications between the two Solidarity Fund calls.

The Solidarity Fund is a UAB means to promote university cooperation actions for the development that contributes to the creation of favorable conditions to build a more fair, democratic, and sustainable world. The Fund makes two grant calls per year: one addressed to professors and university staff and the other one to master or PhD students.

The FAS has received a total of 26 applications between the two Solidarity Fund calls.

When the deadline ended, twelve projects were presented for the E2019-2020 call addressed to UAB postgraduate, master, or PhD students. Five of these projects were presented by PhD students and seven by master students. This call is aimed to promote participation in actions of university cooperation among master and PhD students.

On the other hand, sixteen application have been presented for the PAS/PDI FSXXXVII call, twelve of them regarding cooperation projects with southern countries (1st course of action), and four regarding educational activities at UAB for global justice (2nd course of action). The projects of the 1st course of action aim to enhance the teaching quality and create research capacities in Southern countries in regions such as Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and Asia. Besides that, the educational activities  for global justice of the 2nd course of action intent to create critical thinking  on global injustice and facilitate tools to change them. They aim to build a university community politically active and socially committed to fair, equal, and sustainable development.

The proposals will be assessed by experts on the University Cooperation for Global Justice field. The president of the foundation Fundació Autònoma Solidària, on behalf of the patronage of the entity, will be in charge of deciding the allocations, according to the reports written by the assessor persons and the counseling of the International Relationships and Linguistic Policy Commission.
