TransMedia MILE Project

We extend a warm invitation to you for the closing event of our Kudwa Academy program, supported by UNHCR and the MILE project. The event, themed "Anta Mi: I Belong," will take place on December 15, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Ronda Barcelona, C/ del Consell de Cent, 382, local, 08009.

This occasion marks the conclusion of the MILE project in Barcelona, where Transmedia Catalonia conducted research on inclusive and accessible policymaking. You can find more about it here. The final event will celebrate political participation for all, featuring the voices of those who have experienced forced displacement and engaged in political participation structures.

The event is free to attend and will be conducted in Spanish with support for English and Arabic.

Agenda:

  • 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Presentation of Kudwa Academy and MILE with Razan Ismail (Founder and Director of Kudwa) and Fernanda Espuga (Community Protection Associate UNHCR).
  • 6:00 PM - 6:15 PM: Kudwa Talks with Ahmad Halabli.
  • 6:15 PM - 6:45 PM: Panel Discussion 1 on participation and belonging in exile. 
  • 6:45 PM - 7:00 PM: Kudwa Talks with Laura Jabbour.
  • 7:00 PM - 7:20 PM: Panel Discussion 2 on participation through art and diverse paths to engagement.
  • 7:20 PM - 7:50 PM: World Arabic Language Celebration. Celebrate the rich cultural tradition of the Arabic language with a special dedication and musical performance by the band Athrodeel.
  • 7:50 PM - 8:30 PM: reception and Networking.
