Bibliographic exhibition about the ISOR donation to the Social Sciences Library
The Social Sciences Library presents a bibliographic exhibition about the donation of books from the ISOR research group, which can be visited from June 1 to July 24, and which highlights the value of the funds donated by this research group.
The research group ISOR—Research in the Sociology of Religion—was founded in 1974 by Joan Estruch at the UAB. ISOR will be a pioneer group in the sociological study of religion in Catalonia and Spain. Over the past few years, it has contributed to analyzing contemporary religious, cultural and social transformations, with special attention to questions such as secularism, religious pluralism, memory, heritage and forms of coexistence in diverse societies.
Currently, ISOR begins a new stage with BCURE (Laboratori d'Estudis Contemporanis sobre Cultura i Religió). This change does not represent a rupture, but rather an evolution that maintains the group's heritage and expands its field of study to culture, values, collective imaginations and social conflicts of the contemporary world.
With this exhibition, the Social Sciences Library shows gratitude for the donation and place at the disposal of the university community a set of works that enrich its resources. Now, the exhibition contributes to preserving and disseminating a trajectory of critical research, open and attentive to the changes of the present.
