Fair Trade Month 2026 at the Libraries
In May, the UAB Libraries join Fair Trade Month, a collective initiative to promote critical, fair and responsible consumption
The UAB Libraries celebrate Fair Trade Month throughout May, an initiative born around World Fair Trade Day, which this year will be on Saturday, May 9.
This campaign, in which entities, schools, universities, libraries, businesses, cooperatives and public institutions from around the world participate, invites us to reflect on the social, environmental, local and global consequences of our consumption decisions, and promotes more ethical and sustainable alternatives.
What will we do in the libraries?
We have organized two different activities, with the collaboration of LaCoordi:
- Fair Trade chocolate tasting: Thursday, May 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives, hosted by LaCoordi. Limited spots available! REGISTRATION
- Reading Corners: during May, at the Social Sciences Library, Humanities Library and Sabadell University Library. In these corners you can read and take home books and magazines that address topics of ecology, sustainability and ethical finance.
