Travel with 'Les Misérables' by Victor Hugo

The second cycle of exhibitions dedicated to discovering different cities around the world through the great works of world literature is now open.

Throughout March, the lobby of the Social Sciences Library has been transformed into a kind of barricade recreating the republican uprising in Paris in June 1832, as described by Victor Hugo in Les Misérables. The impact of this work transcends strictly literary boundaries and has become a true cultural touchstone.

The exhibition features a fold-out map of Paris in 1832, a diagram showing all the characters in the novel and their connections, an appendix illustrating the city's sewer system, and a travel journal for planning your own literary itinerary.

The aim of this series of exhibitions is to diffuse the Social Sciences Library's tourism collection.
