The Social Sciences Library incorporates the Maria Comas Tourism Documentary Collection.
A century of travel through brochures and tourist guides
The Maria Comas Tourism Documentary Collection consists of approximately 200 brochures, guides and fold-out materials.
From a geographic point of view, the collection mainly includes tourist destinations in Spain, France and Portugal, although documents relating to Italy, Switzerland and, to a lesser extent, Turkey, Tunisia and other countries are also preserved.
Most do not indicate the date of publication, but it can be estimated that they mostly come from the 1960s and 1970s of the 20th century, although there are also examples from the 1930s and some older ones.
In general, these are documents that offer brief historical and tourist information, as well as advertising material related to hotels, travel agencies and similar services.
