Exhibition: Voting and elections, we could do it better.

This exhibition, carried out by Xavier Mora Giné and Rosa Camps Camprubí, from the Mathematics Department (Sciences Faculty), summarizes the content of the website Ars Electionis. Podríem fer-ho millor!, which examines the problems surrounding voting methods for making collective decisions and methods for electing representative bodies.

From November 24 to December 19, the Science and Technology Library presents an exhibition on the mathematical biases that can be present in different methods of electing officials through voting.

The main purpose of both the website and the exhibition is to highlight that 1) some fairly common procedures can produce very inaccurate results; and that 2) there are other procedures that allow for better results.
