Discover the new guide to Artificial Intelligence
What is Artificial Intelligence? How does it work? How can it help you in teaching, research or your studies? The new guide from the UAB Library Service offers you a clear and practical introduction to understanding this technology that is transforming the academic world and the way we learn, research and generate knowledge.
The Library Service has produced a new thematic guide dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the aim of offering information, resources and best practices on AI to students, teaching staff and researchers from an informative perspective. The aim of this tool is to promote understanding of AI-based technologies, their uses in higher education and the challenges they pose from an ethical, legal and social perspective.
The guide includes informative content on how AI works, such as the token system and the predictive process of language models, and devotes specific sections to the most widespread academic applications: from text and image generation to programming and audiovisual creation.
Another important aspect of this tool is its willingness to address the place of AI in the academic sphere. For this reason, it includes a monographic section on how to cite and attribute AI-generated content, explaining when and how its use should be acknowledged according to the main bibliographic styles. Finally, it includes reflections on authorship, intellectual property, data protection and transparency in the application of these technologies in the university context.
With this initiative, the Library Service reaffirms its commitment to digital skills training and the promotion of responsible use of AI within the academic community.
