Workshop on Disinformation and Critical Thinking at the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives
Gain tools to learn how to detect falsehoods, both in the media and in the scientific field.

On Tuesday, October 28, during Global Media and Information Literacy Week (October 24–31, 2025), the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archive will organize the workshop “Disinformation and Critical Thinking: Tools to Navigate News and Fake Science.” This activity is primarily aimed at undergraduate students but is open to the entire university community.
The goal of the workshop is to provide tools for identifying disinformation, especially in the scientific field, and to promote critical thinking when engaging with the content we consume daily. Through a combination of theory, real case analysis, verification tools, and discussion spaces, participants will develop key skills for academic research and informed decision-making.
The workshop will take place at the COMTEC Centre of the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives, an innovative space that fosters active learning and collaborative work.
It will be led by library staff specialized in information literacy, who are part of the European project Media and Information Literacy Community Collections (MIL CC).
Spots are limited, and registration is required!
A certificate of attendance will be issued upon request.
