The Library Service joins European Research Night
On Friday 26 September, the UAB Library Service is organising two special activities: a visit to the dissection room at the Faculty of Medicine and the workshop “Draw nature”, open to anyone interested in experiencing science up close.

The Library Service of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona offers two unique experiences to bring research and science closer to the public. The first, organised in conjunction with the Faculty of Medicine, is a visit to the Faculty of Medicine's dissection room, an exceptional opportunity to learn first-hand how human anatomy is studied. There will be two sessions, at 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm, each lasting 30 minutes. This activity allows participants to explore a key space in Health Sciences training and has limited places. Register now and don't miss out on this unique experience!
The second activity is the ‘Draw Nature’ workshop, which we are repeating after the success of the first edition, led by illustrator Toni Llobet. Participants will learn techniques for drawing animals, plants and nature in general, combining art and science in a practical and informative session open to everyone. No prior registration is required; participants can join when they arrive, and no previous drawing experience is necessary. We will provide a range of introductory drawing manuals from the UAB libraries as support tools to complement Toni's explanations.
These activities are part of the European Research Night celebrations, an international event taking place on Friday 26 September, which aims to bring research, innovation and their protagonists closer to audiences of all ages in an accessible and participatory way. At the Bellaterra campus, starting at 5 p.m., attendees will be able to enjoy workshops, games, demonstrations and micro-talks with researchers from the University and the UAB Sphere research centres.
In Catalonia, more than 200 free activities will be held during the week of 26 September, with the participation of some 50 scientific entities. The project is made possible thanks to co-funding from the Horizon Europe programme and the collaboration of several universities and research centres, coordinated by the University of Girona and supported by the Catalan Association for Scientific Communication.
