Goytisolo Room
The Goytisolo Room is located on the third floor of the Humanities Library and, like the rest of the library, is affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy, and the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.
The room is named in honour of José Agustín Goytisolo Gay, a Barcelona-born poet of the Generation of the 1950s, whose work—both committed and intimate—explores themes such as memory, social injustice and the human condition, and who played a significant role in contemporary Spanish poetry until his death in 1999.
This room is designed as a multifunctional space to meet users’ needs:
- A space for informal and active learning, with suitable furniture for sharing knowledge and working either collaboratively or individually.
- A space for teaching and cultural activities, meetings, training courses, events, presentations and other gatherings.
The room may be used during the Library’s opening hours.
Purpose
The Goytisolo Room is intended to support both individual study and collaborative work, in an environment that encourages concentration and interaction.

Activities organised by the Library Service, such as training sessions or workshops, can be held here, as well as activities promoted by the faculties, including lectures, meetings and presentations.
