Eduard Ripoll Collection

Eduard Ripoll (Tarragona, 1923 – Barcelona, 2006), a prehistorian and archaeologist, was educated at the University of Barcelona and later in Paris under Abbé Breuil, where he specialised in prehistoric art, the subject of his doctoral thesis, and maintained close links with leading international specialists. He pursued his career as a university lecturer and held posts in various heritage institutions, including the Archaeological Museum of Barcelona, the excavations at Empúries, and the National Archaeological Museum.
