On 27 May, from 1 pm to 3 pm, the presentation of the book The Paintings of Sixena. A Fire That Still Burns, by art historian, curator and lecturer at the University of Lleida, Albert Velasco, will take place in the Periodicals Room of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the UAB.
Published by Pòrtic and launched in March 2026, the book is presented as a “manual” for understanding the case in a “accessible but rigorous” way, in a context of high judicial tension. The author warns of the risk that the return of the paintings could damage extremely fragile works and argues that conservation should take precedence over any other consideration.
The session will include a round table with the participation of the author, Jesús Brufal, from the Department of Antiquity and Middle Ages Studies at UAB, and Carles Sánchez, from the Department of Art History and Musicology at UAB.
The event is open to the entire university community.
