On 11 May, from 1 pm to 3 pm, the Periodicals Room of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (UAB) will host the launch of the book Peer Interaction in the Foreign Language Classroom by Elisabet Pladevall-Ballester.

The book offers a rigorous and up-to-date analysis of peer interaction in foreign language learning. Drawing on empirical research, it explores how collaborative classroom dynamics can enhance both linguistic competence and communication skills, while encouraging more active student participation.

The volume places particular emphasis on the pedagogical potential of peer work and its role in knowledge construction within educational contexts. As such, it represents a valuable contribution for both teachers and researchers in the field of language education.

Elisabet Pladevall-Ballester is an associate professor in the Department of English and German Studies at UAB and currently serves as head of department. Her research focuses on second language acquisition in children and adults, particularly in bilingual immersion contexts and CLIL programmes.

The event is open to the entire university community.
