Marlid Garcia receives the Best Poster Award at the 4th International Symposium Mucosal Health in Aquaculture

Marlid Garcia, predoctoral researcher in the IBB-UAB Evolutive Immunology Group, has received the Best Student Poster Presentation Award at the 4th International Symposium Mucosal Health in Aquaculture (MHA2026), held from 7 to 10 September 2026 in Barcelona.

The symposium brought together researchers from around the world to share the latest advances in mucosal health, immunology, nutrition and disease prevention in aquatic species of relevance to aquaculture.

The award recognises outstanding contributions presented by Master and PhD students working in the field of mucosal health in aquaculture. This recognition highlights the quality of the research carried out by Marlid Garcia and the IBB-UAB Evolutionary Immunology Group.

The Evolutive Immunology Group studies host–pathogen interactions and immune system mechanisms in fish, with a particular focus on vaccine development and the evolution of pathogen recognition in vertebrates.
