The 2025 ranking of the Top 2% of scientists with the most impact in the world has recently been published.

This annual ranking, prepared by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, analyzes scientific production and bibliometric impact data extracted from the Scopus database. Indicators such as the total number of citations, H-index, relative impact within their scientific field, etc. are taken into account.

The results identify the 2% of most cited scientists in the world in 22 fields and 174 research subfields, highlighting both the impact throughout the career and that of the last year (2024).

This year, the IBB researchers included in this prestigious list are:

  • Joan Cerdà (#162,499 career impact ranking; #319,328 2024 impact ranking)
  • Xavier Daura (#123,767 career impact ranking)
  • Salvador Ventura (#82,236 career impact ranking; #72,250 2024 impact ranking)
  • Antonio Villaverde (#112,085 career impact ranking; #251,114 2024 impact ranking)
