Participation of the Department of Geography in the LoupO Coexistence project
Professors Ricard Moren and Albert Pèlachs, from the Department, are participating in the European project LoupO Coexistence, launched on May 6 to promote compatibility between the presence of bears and wolves and rural activities in the Pyrenees.
With a total budget of 1,953,714.67 euros, co-financed at 65% by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain–France–Andorra programme (POCTEFA 2021–2027), the project will run for three years and will continue cross-border monitoring of the two species.
The Press release from the UAB and the press release from the Government of Catalonia provide further details about the project.
