Karina Borísova, student in the PhD programme in Spanish Studies, has won the first prize of the UAB's 2026 "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition. She was awarded a cash prize of 800 euros and will represent the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in the final phase of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI). All travel expenses for the trip to Vic (up to €100), where the final will be held, will also be paid by the UAB.

Student of the PhD programme in Geography at the UAB María Paola Ayala Godoy has won the #HiloTesis contest and will receive a cash prize of 500 euros. Crue Universidades Españolas has awarded 5 other prizes to students.

Gala Pujol Infantes, student of the PhD programme in Cell Biology, won first prize in this year's UAB "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition. She explained her thesis with a presentation entitled "How to change the world with a paper straw".
